Have you ever wondered where your chicken comes from? I remember the days of my youth as I loaded thousands of chickens from area farms, choking on the ammonia and dust. Maybe this is why I take great pleasure in raising my chickens in the fresh air, where they are moved daily to fresh pasture. Medicated feed is not used or necessary as the pathogens that industrial farms deal with are not an issue. This natural method sure is more labour intensive, but the final product is worth it.
